Q. What is ARTChart?
A. ARTChart, or Accurate Record Tracking Chart, is OnlineMedsource’s Electronic Health Record System (EHR). ARTChart replaces your paper charts in the office. No more lost charts, no more illegible handwriting and no more stacks of files waiting for the doctor to complete charting and notes. Instead of conforming work flows to accommodate an Electronic Health Record system, ARTChart is flexible and conforms to your work flow and processes. ARTChart EHR is so intuitive and easy to use that training takes less than one hour for the entire office. Because ARTChart is a Software as a Service (SaaS), your office can stay up to date with the latest ARTChart features and services, without the expensive and time consuming software updates.
Q. What is Software as a Service or SaaS?
A. Software as a Service, or SaaS, is the most cost effective and efficient type of software. SaaS is commonly referred to as a hosted solution. This allows your ARTChart EHR service to follow you wherever you are as long as you have Internet access, including on Smart Phones and tablet devices. You do not have to install software other than a standard Internet browser which is likely already available on your computers and devices. Updates are automatic, so you never have to worry about being “two versions behind on your software.” Hosted solutions or SaaS offer more flexibility for less cost than any other type of software on the market today.
Q. What kind of security measures do you take?
A. OnlineMedsource’s ARTChart uses 128-bit encryption to protect information and data. Encryption takes the raw data, scrambles it in a way that only those with the proper permissions can read it. Each ARTChart system uses VeriSign services for security. Further, the data is saved on redundant server drives with a nightly backup to a geographically different location to insure your patient’s/client’s medical information is always ready for you to use.
Q: How does the ARTChart EHR system work?
A. OnlineMedsource creates a custom website with a “Secure Patient Portal.” This portal is how patients/clients fill out paperwork before they arrive for an appointment. When a patient/client completes an electronic form, the office staff is alerted, and the ARTChart system automatically generates a basic chart using the information provided. Once a healthcare professional meets with a patient/client, the provider can take notes at the point of care. Once information is saved into the ARTChart system, it can be viewed and used by those who have authority to do so. A provider also can store images such as digital X-Rays and MRI scans. Additionally, lab results can be imported into a patient’s/client’s record.
Q. How do patients fill out forms in advance?
A. OnlineMedsource’s ARTChart EHR system creates a secure portal for patients/clients to provide the health and medical information your office needs. It employs HIPAA compliant security so your patients/clients can safely log into the system, complete forms and submit them to your office. The forms will be complete, legible and ready before the patient arrives. ARTChart also provides your patients/clients with an electronic Personal Health Record (PHR), which they can use to track compliance to treatment plans, keep a health and wellness journal and securely message a provider with questions. It is through the ARTChart PHR that a provider can easily and securely share medical information with patients/clients.
Q. Can the patient/client see what the provider insert into their charts?
A. The patient/client can see only the forms they complete and submit to you. ARTChart allows you to send a copy of the patient’s/client’s chart or parts of the chart to them, if they request it. This is done electronically and securely. Only the providers and staff who have the permission and authority to see what is inside an electronic medical chart, will see the “inside” of the ARTChart EHR.
Q. How long does it take to train on the system, and what does that cost?
A. The ARTChart EHR system was designed to look and feel like your current paper-based system and work flow, therefore, the training time for the entire staff is usually one hour or less. Initial training is included at no additional charge. Each ARTChart client is provided with a set of manuals to use as a quick reference or refresher. We also include live support during business hours as part of the service. (It will be necessary to charge for some support services, but never before you approve a quote on how much the work will cost. Q. What is the cost for an ARTChart EHR system?
A. The ARTChart EHR system is customized to fit a practice’s needs. Because OnlineMedsource replicates existing forms and work flows, prices do vary. Once an OnlineMedsource Account Representative performs an assessment of your practice, we can then provide a quote for an ARTChart EHR system made to fit your needs with the features you want. Generally, a small practice, which needs a fully functioning EHR but can’t afford one of the high priced “off the shelf” EHR packages, can afford ARTChart Essential which starts at under $1,000. Larger practices which serve a large patient/client base will likely need ARTChart Premier, OnlineMedsource’s flagship EHR. Because this system is highly customizable to fit a practice’s needs, it is difficult to accurately provide a price. In most cases, the average practice spends between $20,000 to $40,000 for an ARTChart Premier EHR System. For practices which fit in between, ARTChart Hybrid is available. Once again, taking specific needs and functionality into account, this EHR service ranges between $6,000 to $12,000.
